…working… working… working…

Okay, these few days I have been very busy with work, and was not able to find time to blog. I have been doing the afternoon shifts and it lasts from afternoon (2 p.m.) to night (11 a.m.). Somehow, I do not go online. Maybe it is due to the exhaustion? Haha.

What I can relate is I saw Mrs. Wong for two days. The first time when she saw me, we did not chat at all loz. But for the second time, she called me and we chatted for quite a while. She still looks the same, always ever. She told that the ‘N’ level results were quite good. Soon, next year will have two classes—5-01 and 5-02… taking O level next year…

Yesterday I worked till 1.30 a.m.! It was such a long day, as Christmas eve, we were busy with the changeover in promotion and also dealing with the crowd. From morning 8.30am, I was already in the office of Watsons.

Sudeenly, was it magic or what, I saw Jaslyn! It was somthing like 2 am liao.. n she appear near my house!! Haha..The bubbly girl from MRL loz. I was scared of her at first as she was so tall and she looked so mature. We chatted for a while and found out she went out with Yuan sheng and others today, celebrating Christmas at Orchard initially. Then they went to my house there to complete the celebration. Like how great if I could celebrate Christmas with some people! It was shocking as I was happily walking home and towards the slope thing and I saw her. I was thinking: When ever since Jaslyn stays at Toh Guan? I found out she stays at Mayfair and she was planning to walk home that night. She is still as bubbly as ever and very friendly too…

For today, I don’t feel like revealing something and hence it should be kept as secret. Only that I must say that I feeling very exhausted… so tired that I could cry…tomorrow I am on afternoon shift.. lol

…new kid on the block…

Haha. It is not really on the block loz. It is actually a new toy in my house. Today, Mum and I went to Watson’s at Jurong East Entertainment. I managed to convince my mum to get a new toy from Watson’s. Haha. A bear resembles Furry Bear, except that its fur texture is slightly different. Its fur is short and neat, making it look more adorable than ever. It is of a darker shade of brown compared to my good old furry bear. Well, I am old and happy as I have another new bear in the family! This creature is slightly heavy as there is some beanbag inserted inside. It is such a lovely bear. Now, I have it beside me and I am admiring it now. Lol. I have named this newbie as “Furry Brownie.”

LET ME WELCOME my new BEAR: FURRY BROWNIE!!!! :) :) :)

Anyway, today is my break and I am relaxing after all these days of hard work. Tomorrow must go back liao… dotx.

...sad story...

Ok, sad stories do happen. I met Miss Roberts (Michelle) and she was very friendly and chatty. She told me that some hotels are offering waiters paying $7.50 per hour. That is a REALLY very high price loz. It is so damn scary!

Then also i saw xueli... wat a shock loz... she told me she stay nearby... hmmmmm

Ok, next is that today is the first day i do closing. We had to push things and it was horrible. :( However, i helped lots of people to transmit the message of getting the gift sets-- 2 for $9.90 and things like that. Just now talked to good old chuan on the phone and yong xun and irwan online.... lol.

:) Hope things do go well for me :)

… Wassup?...

Guess what? Today I saw Mdm Tan! She looks about the same, but she was shocked when she saw me. Lol. I chatted with her and continued with my work. Well… I realized that working in Watson’s on Saturday is much better compared to weekdays. There is no need to carry many boxes upstairs as there will not be goods coming. I provided customer service to lots of people but the most significant person I served was an old woman. She was looking for a hair dye to dye her hair another colour. She was probably signaling for me but I was not noticing. It was until an old man called me and I quickly helped her. She was quite smiling since I could speak some Teochew. It was quite funny. I helped her to pay up and gave her the change. I felt great as I helped someone (properly) today.

Well.. this section is for ex-boon lay primary students. I wanna report was that I saw Lian Ji! It was somewhat weird. I was happily at Watson’s and he waved at me, acknowledging me. We even chatted a while. Well, for non-BLPS people. Let me briefly tell you the past of Lian Ji. He was a guy that loves to sleep (better sleeper than Sean…lol). When I was in primary 3 and 4, he was in the same class as me and I even sat beside him before. He can sleep in class so soundly that saliva begin to drip out of his mouth and ewww… haha. He had a bag that has wheels, the kind that was in fashioned years ago. Hence he always pushed his bag to school, telling us that his father is more well-off and have the money to buy a more expensive bag. Ever since secondary 1 to 4, I tried to acknowledge him as I know his father owns a dessert stall at Clementi. He did not even want to reply and even said, “You saw a person.” I felt quite sad when he said that and has not contacted him for a long time. Now, he is so much more plum and different. He looked very happy when he saw me. Why ah? I also don’t know. When I was primary 6, the only news I heard was that he transferred school. Ever that time, I do not know he took ‘O’ level this year or how his education life went. Hmmmm……………………………….

…Watson oh Watson...

Heh hey… I am back at blogging again… after 1 day of rest. Yesterday was my first day of work loz. I went to Watson Headquarters and was issued the uniforms and T-shirts. I was assigned to Clementi Central for my job! Lol. So I will be working there... find me if you want. My boss, Christopher is quite a nice person and I found him quite jovial and friendly at times.

Well, let me describe my work now. It rather resembles the NTUC job that I was offered weeks ago. I have to carry goods in and out of the storerooms and have to crawl the dangerous and steep looking steps up and down. I also have to replenish the goods and help to shelf them. I also do some basic customer service to help the customers if they have any problems. If I am unsure, I will ask my supervisors for help. Anyway, the staffs there are quite okay; taking into account, that today is my 2nd day of work. My work is tiring and I will be rotting (like now) at home... watching shows like double happiness 2.

Sherwin suddenly called me and asked for Kenneth’s number. It looks like Sherwin misses him loz. Lol.

some newbie stuff

ok... i hope my this new job would be a success, not like the flop in Paco Funworld...I have found a job... for today's job search... I went to ............

1. A Japanese bakery selling European bread
2. A modern Chinese restaurant
3. Watsons

Haha........ guess what... i got the job at watson's! I am going to work tomorrow liao loz... haha :) So happy...

…tiring job search…

Well, yesterday, I went out with Sean, Daus, Irwan, and Kelvin to pursue jobs. It was very tiring and we went many places.

The first stop was Paradiz centre-- an employment agency I got online and now, they are asking me to go there to fill up a form. We went to Mac to eat breakfast and then we went to the office. The girl who was in-charge of me was very friendly and was quite shocked that I managed to get four people for her! Haha. We went to an arcade at park lane and rested by playing some arcade games.

The second stop was Shaw House. We took a bus there walked to there from Ngee Ann City. This one is a travel agency looking for promoters. Unfortunately, we were too late. The interview was only from 10 to 10.45 am, which is so early!

After some callings here and there, I came to know to a shop selling some car devices and offered a salary of $1000 per month. It is located at Hong Kong Street, but we did not want to take MRT, we took cab instead. Daus, Sean and I shared one cab while Kel and wan shared another. When we reached there, I realized that the shops nearby smell awful as the Chinese medical smell lingered in my nose. We went up there and realized it was quite a tiny office and we went there for interview.

After the interview, we went to Swissotel to ask about becoming a waiter. The human resource department of the Hotel is very tiny and there are many staircases down. The walls that lead down were colorfully painted, making it resembling you are going to a children’s section of a library.

The fifth stop was Plaza Singapura s Japanese noodle shop. Before that, we went to Burger King for lunch. The auntie was such a rigid person.----> CENSORED <------. Firstly, the chicken tenders were not available. She said that it is best to change it to the dessert pies, which I did not know that Sean, Irwan, and Kelvin did not like it. I asked if I could change, but she told me a NO means NO answer. I was quite angry but we continued our lunch. Suddenly, I realized that Sean took the Chicken whopper Jr. and I was left with Whopper Jr., which was beef! I could not eat beef and hence, I went to ask if I could change. She again said NO and said even if I wanted to change; I needed to pay $1 for it. What is this man? I am so pissed off with Burger King. Even for the next few times I went to ask for more chili, the auntie would look at me suspiciously; think that I am trying to be some people who insist on things. I am so pissed off with her! Screw her ah! We went to the Japanese ramen restaurant and came to know that they want only older people… haiz…

The next stop was an application to become a storekeeper. We went to International Plaza at Tanjiong Pagar. The life moved very fast! From the first floor to the 20th floor, it moved so fast that a pressure could be felt. We had to swallow more saliva to overcome it. We went to one floor Irwan recommended, but it turned out to be a bogus one. We went to another which was advertised and the person asked us to fill up the forms and we left. The lady was very friendly. She each gave us a Christmas stick as a gift. It has the name -Manpower- attached to it. She was such a nice person. Sean wished her Merry Christmas for her kindness and friendliness.

The seventh stop was Chevrons, to become the F&B Service Crew. They requested for our IC and told to fill up the application forms. After that, we went to see the manager, which appeared quite stern. He was quite friendly later after talking for a while. We would be paid $6 per hour but our service is only limited to when there is major functions or things like that. Hence, it is not that great after all.

Our last stop was –Popular- building, but some mishaps happened. We walked all the way there from Chevrons, never knowing that it was actually so far away. Daus got slightly hurt and his pants torn when he attempted to jump through the bushes. It was a very funny sight and even Daus was laughing crazily to himself. The walk took something like 20 minutes and it was so far from Chevrons! Aiyo! When we reached there, I asked the security guard if we could go in. It turned out that the guard told us that we are too late and should come again tomorrow. Well, our tiring walk was wasted.

Well… it was quite a fun trip although there were many disappointments. Somehow, I feel left out, as I do not know the secret of someone yet. Nevertheless, Daus, Irwan, and Kel know it already. I feel disillusioned…

...prejudice...

It is not like i like to talk about it. But from this book, i noticed that there is some kind of prejudice among the different races. In USA, it is among the 'whites' and 'blacks.' The blacks see that they cannot mix with the whites. The whites despise them and hence they should not be related in any means. What happens? There is a lot of misunderstandings among the people. It is true. It same goes with the racial riots that happened in Singapore. Why did we fight? We cannot understand each other's differences and cannot learn to accomodate. This kind of problem is cumulative and it lasts from generations to generations. Whites feel they should not mix with blacks. Blacks think that whites favor their own people only due to the same race. Blacks will not be given a chance.

This instance happened to Buddy and Charmian. Buddy is a white but Charmian is a black. The parents initally objected to their relationship, saying as introducing "black blood" to the family. What is this men? I feel so sad ah. I thought there should be more fairness among the people? Why is there so much prejedice in the world?

Some of us who is reading here may have the answers.. lol...

carEeR opTions

Hey hey.. I have been reading people's blogs. This article is created by brendon. It may sound logical or silly to you, but i just want to share it around. It is quite interesting, although...

Ever wondered about career options in future? Well, here's a little breakdown on some of the common occupations available! (It even comes with ratings!)
------------------------------------------------------
Career: Office Worker
Requirements: At least an 'O' level certificate
Job Description: This job is perhaps the hardest of all career options. Firstly, we all begin from a simple secetary, and slowly rise up the corporate ladder. This job can be time consuming as there are too many things to do with too little time. Also, this job is perfect for people with great 'social skills'. Especially when it comes to dealing with demanding bosses. We can always use sweet words and praises to suck up. But DO NOT use too much of these as many bosses hate these 'sucker-ups'. Note: This is also the most unstable job in economic crisises.
Salary Range: S$1,000 to S$10,000 or more
Ratings: 4/10
-----------------------------------------------------------
Career: Hawker
Requirements: Lots of capital
Job Description: This job is defintiely tougher than any other jobs out there. You will have to awaken in the wee hours and slog till the dark night. Also, a hawker must have very high constitution or else he/she may be unable to endure the harsh job. Social skills are equally important in this field as dealing with suppliers, employees and customers can be a problem. Another must for hawkers is to provide scrumptious food! This will attract more customers as word will spread about the quality you provide. Therefore, a reputation must be built up to attain customer loyalty and more customers. Note: This is not a stable job either. When certain disasters strike (e.g. Avian Flu), suppliers may run out of supplies to supply you. In economic crisises, people may be unwilling to spend money as well. So watch out!
Salary Range: If people like your food, S$5,000 and above. If people dislike you or your food, S$1,000 and below or negative.
Ratings: 6/10
------------------------------------------------
Career: Driver (Cab, Bus, Train, Logistics)
Requirements: A license to drive these vehicles
Job Description: This is definitely the least tiring job! But driving for long hours may be too tedious. For Taxi drivers, the job can be very tough when you drive the wrong places where you can't find customers. Also, when driving for too long, accidents may happen. Thus, DO NOT drive when overworked. Train drivers are different here. The route to travel is standard but accidents can still occur. Be it mechanical glitches or civilised suicides, all train drivers must be versatile to avoid these incidents, which is somehow unavoidable. Logistic drivers are those who transfer goods from one place to another. They too have to beware of being overworked and requires ample rest. Deliver the goods on time and efficiently and the bosses will definitely look upon you. If otherwise, you'd better switch jobs or it is going to be hell for you.
Note: Like EVERY job, this job is also unstable in an economic crisis.
Salary Range for Taxi Drivers: S$100 to S$500 (a DAY)
Salary Range for Bus or Train Drivers: S$1,000 to S$2,500
Salary Range for Logistic Drivers: S$1,000 to S$2,000
Ratings: 5/10
--------------------------------------------
Career: Celebrity (Singer or Actor)
Requirements: LOTS of charisma and natural talent. Professionally trained is acceptable too.
Job Description: This job is only hard and very tough at the beginning. Firstly, you must appeal to the masses ranging from sexiness to nerdiness. Also, you must be able to take criticisms, insults and stupid comments. A singer basically just needs to sell albums and be filthy rich. For an actor/actress, the path is rockier. A-list celebrities look down on you and hate mail gets sent quite frequently. And the press will definitely spread juicy rumours about you, so put on a brave front and deny everything.
Salary Range: S$0 to S$Millions!
Ratings: 10/10 if you have talent, otherwise, 0/10.
I think that's enough careers for now, for I have spent approximately half an hour conjuring up these nonsense.

…sad ending…

I hate reading books with sad endings, especially like this one. The book Buddy’s Blues had quite a sad ending and I felt quite emotional after reading it. The band -->the bosses<-- broke up ever since the drummer took drugs, got into trouble, even he tried to repent. Some bad accident happened and his spine was seriously injured. He did not like the girl -Olivia- anymore, as she became a very ambitious girl and hid things from him.

He later contacted a girl named Charmian, which was actually the sister of an old friend he knew when schooling-- Jules. Things appeared they were good friends until one day they decided to stay in hotels. Although they booked two separate rooms, Charmian suddenly knocked on the door and confessed that she had a crush on him since she was 14. Buddy suddenly realized that the person he loved is Charmian after all. They went to bed together for the night. After some days, Charmian announced to him that she was pregnant. Buddy was so shocked that he mentioned things like abortion and things like that. Char was also equally confused. By the time, the bosses broke up. They could not find another good drummer as good as the guy who was hooked on drugs and now spine injury.

Talking about bands breaking up, I realized that there is this phenomenon in the society. Like let us see some example. S Club 7 broke up. Backstreet boys also too… I mean, it is very difficult to maintain a band. You notice that after a band is made up and after they make big bucks, they break up to lead their own life. Does it happen to most bands? I hope not. Sometimes, existence as a band then makes one popular...

Charmian and Buddy sort of broke up (not really) for a period and Buddy went to America for tour. It ended with that he started to sing solo instead of being in a band. Many were impressed and the tour became something different. Buddy missed Char a lot and he wrote to her many times. He felt very demoralized, as there was no reply. Finally, things were resolved and Buddy’s father managed to ask his mum to convince Char to go over to America to find Buddy. Buddy was so relieved when he met her. Very soon, they got married. Buddy’s mother also came over to America to witness the solemn event. The baby was due soon and Buddy always longed for home-- Britain. He made many recordings there. He wrote 40 songs. You can see that he is filled with ideas. He wrote a song -->always heading home<---

See it in the sunrise, clouds against pale blue
Splashing light on water, smoky rainfall too
The dancing of the atom, rocks and running streams
Long-forgotten stories, memories and dreams
The beauty of the children, the wisdom of the old
Changing the seasons, always heading home

From year to year
From day to day
From dawn to dark
From birth to grave
Always heading home
We’re always heading home

It’s there in children voices, echoes from the past
The music of the forest, the silence of the stars
The rhythm of the ocean, a call that can’t be heard
A feeling something’s missing, that can’t be said in words
The way that all things balance, the fast one and the slow
The question and the answer, always heading home

From year to year
From day to day
From dawn to dark
From birth to grave
Always heading home
We’re always heading home

What do you think of his song? I liked the lyrics, although I got no idea how the tune will sound like. It was true that Buddy and Char were heading home. Nevertheless, bad things do happen in the journey to home. They were involved in an accident. The mother Char died first. Buddy managed to survive for a few days. He laid there unconscious without moving. Although with his father’s persuasion to ‘wake up’ and he managed to open a bit of his eye and move his hand, he did not survive. They left behind a baby, named as Holly, a girl. Buddy’s parents took care of the baby. Buddy’s songs eventually topped the charts-- *Always Heading Home* for weeks and weeks. Fans sent him cards for his greatest achievements as a singer.

I feel sad for Buddy. I think it is really a pity for Buddy. He did not live through to see how popular his song became. It is funny ah. I noticed something. Many of us do not treasure the things or the talents we have. It is only when they are not around, and then their collections would be highly appreciated. As a singer, the main purpose, besides making big bucks, we also enjoy being popular. We enjoy looking at the eager or satisfied faces of the audiences. That is the main point of singing after all. Hence, my message is: I feel that we should try to treasure what we have. It is far tooooooooo late when we start to appreciate one’s efforts, contributions, or talents when he or she is not around…

...book sharing...

Let me share with u some books i have been reading...

The book i am reading is Buddy's Blues. Ok, this book is quite interesting loz. Wen Long told me that he got an idea to start a band. This book narrates about a group becoming a band and they write songs and things like that. The group is called "The Bosses." From this book, i realised that being a band is not that easy after all. They are being pressured to top the charts or at least get in. It is also difficult to be popular and sometimes, the members in the band need to have good relations to remain. Like in the story.. the drummer suddenly got addicted to drugs and things like that... Haiyo... A success of a band/ group is not easy afterall...

Another book i am reading is cat's manual. the book makes me feel like i am reading a bio book! It talks a lot about cats and their behaviour... Futhermore, it is quite technical loz... lol. I learnt a lot of new things about cats! lol....

...my "happy" ending...

Oh... how happy am i.. yay... yay... Lets cheer... like real like that.

You noticed the quotations... you would know why. It is NOT happy after all. Some people in their hearts may be happy upon this news: I HAVE BEEN DISMISSED. Hence, i am just like any student, unemployed. Some may laugh.. haha.. i must have been incompetent. I may agree, but only partially or less. The manager, Mr Sean wants QUALITY. I must not only work hard, but also smart. I was really pissed off by his sarcasm and and his long windedness. I have erased working at Paco as a record. It will be erased and I will never put it in my resume that i worked there before. It will bring back all the horible memories.

Today, he made me wipe most of the arcade machines, which made me sooooo tired. Obviously, he was testing my patience. He compared me to a blangah dash work and was so unhappy with the way i wiped the stuff. I had to redo many times. It tired me out and made me feel so angry. When I was done, i went into the office and he gave me the money i earned for these few days. My FIRST paycheck and it is such a miserable one!

I will not despair. I will find another job that pays me well and will not be critised like that. I will NEVER work in arcades. I will only visit there as a customer. YES. As a customer...

...horrible stuff and happy stuff...

I AM not going to talk about the unhappy things yesterday. Anyway, it made me simply so miserable that i was listless and sad. I am in a very precarious situation. I dont like feeling to tell anyone. The first person who know something was wen long followed by daus and chuan... For anyone else, unless you keep pressing, i would not tell at all. NO means no~!

Hehe.. today's happy stuff is great ah huh. I went out with chuan. It was long since i went out with him since he went to Korea (lucky boy!). We went to KFC and ate the buddy meal. The shaker chicken was not too bad ah. It tasted like the popcorn one, except that there is some kind of powder added there. We added the garlic one. It tasted marvelous and value for moeny too. We walked around and went to lots of shops like toys r'us, arcades, comic shops and etc.. We met some people like Qi long, Jeannie and Lifeng... Hehe.. bought food and things like that from Valu$ before We watched a movie "Blade Trinity"(NC-16) It was quite great! The effects are fun esp the guns that could kill people by dissolving them into ashes. It deals with the issue of the existance of vampires in the world and also Dracula. In this movie, dracula has transformed to become so powerful that he could live in the morning like a normal person. The language is quite crude with lots and lot of "Fuck" in the conversations. Overall, it is a very nice movie. I enjoyed it a lot. I went to IMM later alone to buy some food and thing for my mum. I went home and later mum and i went to eat some vegetarian noodles. it tasted simply great...

Anyway, i think Jurong point is quite full house. I asked so many places and yet not even one said there is available positions. It looks like the search for morning jobs failed at JP. However, I enjoyed myself a lot with good old chuan. His Korea trip was a 8-day one and he told me about Kimchi a necessarity in the meals.. lol..

...hard work...

Yesterday’s night work was as bad as the first day’s one. The manager wanted to change the arrangement of the tables and chairs to make it more conducive for patrolling and preventing cheating in the cyber café. I had to remove the PC parts like the speakers. It was so old and dusty. I still had to bundle the wires nicely with a rubber band. I also had to push the chairs and carry tables.

I finally saw Jason. He is not exactly helpful or friendly either. He has a big built like me, haha. When I am still not so sure about servicing, I had to call him for help. He just like came with a blur look on his face. Yes, I know that I am still not very familiar with the machines, but I still feel that he as a senior should be more helpful and understanding. Siti is a much better person. She tries her best to guide me whenever possible.

For that day, I balanced the accounts! As a cashier, if I made mistakes, I have to pay up the missing tokens. I was released at around 11.45pm, since I was busily packing the computer peripherals and switches. I accidentally cut my hand while carrying a table! It was so heavy and suddenly, the nail inside cut my hand. Now, there is a red line on my hand.

I met Kelvin, Irwan, and wen long (Sean). Anyway, my manager is called Mr. Sean. Therefore, it is like hmmmm…… They were so lucky—they went for job hunting. In the end, they enjoyed themselves by playing pool. I also saw Sean’s blog that he is short-listed for an interview! Congratulations then!

It feels weird, because I am serving my good old friends and the people I know. I also saw Zheng Hua, my primary school mate. I also met Meng Lui, my primary school friend. Well, Sean was initially asking me why was I smiling all over. Well, I feel happy because I get to see them! It is sometimes boring to be all alone rotting in the arcade. Later they came back again and played arcade since they played pool. They gave me five cents and I had to absorb by changing it myself.

I came back after I threw rubbish for them. I was released earlier since I was not assigned what to do. I went back by ‘333’ bus, since the ‘105’ last bus has gone. I went home and messaged Siti to ask her if Parco wanted people. She said yes, and I called wen long. He told me that he will consider but also told me that I look old and sad. Am I? I am not too sure either…

Anyway, I feel I am not so old ah. Sometimes, when I do servicing, some parents tell their children to say thank you to ‘uncle.’ Wow! When ever since I became so old? Uncle is definitely not the term when people call me ah.

Let me do a review of working that most of us will most likely will and will not know.
1. Working is repetitive
2. Working can be hard work
3. Working gives us a chance to learn new things from experiences
4. Working can be boring
5. Working can be tiring
6. Working can affect your moods
7. Working can be worrying
8. Working can be fun
9. Working can be mundane
10. Working needs patience
It all depends on how YOU manipulate it to make it in your favor.

Okay, are ten reviews enough? Ha-ha. I am looking forward to see my pay check too, like what wen long said. He has already made a list of made he wants to buy. I am not going to do an elaborate list, but this list narrates some things I am going to do after I get my paycheck in early January 2005…

1. Get a mp3 player
2. Get a digital camera [many people have already]
3. Get a scanner for my computer
4. Change new hand phone [Next year December 2005]
5. Indulge in food, shopping, and meeting with friends
6. Get a new stuffed toy [actually a lot at home already]

Haha, I am still considering what to buy. Hope everything goes well for me…

For today, something weird happened. When I wanted to login to blogger, it cames out the language in Chinese (Traditional) Why? Why? I do not know either…

…moment of remembrance and cousin’s wedding…

Haha. I just got back from my cousin’s wedding. It was quite a success loz. At first, we reached there at 7.15 pm and we had cocktail reception. It is hel at fullerton hotel loz...We chatted with some relatives to pass the time. At about 7.45pm, the doors were open and we went in. I talked to third aunt and eldest aunt. It was quite interesting. We drank some soft drinks too. After we settled down, it started with the hosts introducing themselves and the bride (jing hong) and groom (lai li) came in. Cousin Ann (jing hong) was clad in the wedding gown and Lai lee in coat. My cousins—jing li and jing ping were also in coat. They looked so formal, handsome, and suave! I felt so happy for jing hong loz.

The food was started with the waiters and waitresses serving the food. The queued in rows and came in very orderly. The food was all-marvelous and we needed not lift a finger! The staff would allocate the food accordingly to 10 people exactly and it would be served. Even the drinks are constantly changed even when we have not really finished them! Service is superb and it was great. In the middle of the dinner, jing hong changed to a green dress and appeared again with lai li. The “yam seng” was done and it was interesting. Lai li sang a song for jing hong and I heard the song’s lyrics were composed by him. It was so nice. There was another girl and she, as the best friend of jing hong, sang many songs… including one especially for the couple.

Here is the part for the moment of remembrance—on December 06 2004. I took alcoholic drink—red wine! It was quite weird to my body. …Changes in a matter of 2 days…

Many things happened, since I did not update my blog. It is really quite interesting ones! Let me number them and you will see…

1. Job found at Parco Fun world (arcade) at Jurong East.
2. Bought a new toy called Golden furry doggie from Giant
3. Did flyer distribution door to door

You may comment “cheh,” but I feel that it is a lot loz.

Dec 3
Let us see… I got the Parco fun world job because of my brother! He saw the sign of recruitment and he applied. Unfortunately, he did not get the job. However, after constant nagging from him, I went and tried out. You know right, I thought got NTUC, no need any more. Nevertheless, I realized that the work I am going to do would be very tough and it is very tiring. Since my brother recommended me to go, then I went to sign up. After I wrote the application form, I went to the library.

The library was very quiet. The verging all teens section was so quiet! I guess. The people were all happily enjoying themselves at orchard road or something like that… Haha… Suddenly, the arcade called me and asked me for interview.

Dec 4
The next day, I went for the interview. I also went back to my English tuition centre and the guy said I help him by distributing flyers. What only. He wanted to give me $20 for 2000 flyers! I talked much to him and he agreed to pay me $35. I thought it was okay and went to the so-called “interview.” It turned out to be my first day of work. Hay hey, now I am working at Parco Fun world at Jurong Entertainment Centre. So if you want to see me work, visit me from 6 pm onwards. He he.

The job? I will be collecting money and giving tokens. I will be patrolling around the centre to arrange the chairs and see through the procedures. I will be doing some simple servicing if possible. $4 for an hour, how great is that. It is quite fun, but I will be taking lots of money. The people are rich nowadays… They can buy $10 worth of tokens! Haha…

The day was a special one and we had to do QC, which means I had to open the machines and take the tokens. We put them into the sacks and it was heavy! Haha. We also emptied the rubbish and threw them away. It is the first time I am working and it is sooooo unexpected! I thought it was just an interview. I never expected that I will work immediately.

Hehe..I talked to Daus about it and messaged Sean about it. I was quite excited! Hehe

Before that, I went to Giant and bought a new toy! It is called Golden Furry Doggie. Its fur is golden brown and it has that lustrous shine. It is so BIG. It only cost $19.90. I feel so happy… a new kid on the block! It is SO nice to cuddle!

Dec 05
Well, today, I went to many blocks to give out flyers for the tuition centre guy. This guy is fuckingly SCHEMING! I realized he pay me $35 is still too little! I went to 8 blocks to give out the flyer eh! I am so angry with him.

Anyway, I am working tonight. Hahaha hehehe…..

…finally a job found…

Well, today I went to long john and wanted to get a job. They only next year then there may be a job available! Haiyo. I met li hui and found out she was working in Giant as a promoter, promoting Anlene yogurt. I am so envious of her; go a job at secondary three!

I went to NTUC, since the people called me. I will be working as a store packer, which means I will carry goods and pack goods. It sounds heavy, but it is better than nothing! I will be paid $4+ per hour! Yay… after these long years, I found a job. I am so happy. I will start work next tues, which means I still have approximately 3 days to enjoy and rot. I will be going to my cousin’s wedding, so I will report on that after it is over. I am feeling great. Hehe.

…Kbox and job hunt…

:) Today I went to KBox with Sharon, yin boon and Benjamin. It was very fun. It is a sort of celebration of Sharon’s birthday and the end of the o levels examination. Ah. We sang for something like 4 hours. At first, we met at West mall. We planned to eat at Mos Burger, but I thought we were going to Paradiz centre, which may not have mos burger. In the end, we ate at the west mall’s branch. The food there is great and all of us enjoyed it. Sharon’s meal was a treat, as it is a sort of birthday present for her. Haha. I guess her birthday is long over, but we enjoyed a lot.

We sang many songs! They come from everywhere, but most are SHE’s songs and Stephanie sun’s songs. I managed to find some songs to sing, but I realized the song’s MTV is simply so crappy. I see a Caucasian model looking around or feeling sad. If not it shows some scenery in the European countries. Haiyo. However, SHE’s songs are original MTVs and it is great. Sharon sang all the Stephanie’s songs while Ben and yin boon sang the SHE songs. We sang lemon tree, the song that reminded me of the Singapore Idols. I also saw the MTV of numb by linkin’ park. Hoobastank, the reason was sooo nice :) It was thrilling! $10 was well spent, I must comment. Great stuff! By the way, I got a k box member card now. It is a lifetime membership. Therefore, anyone wants to go k box, approach me and we have student rates! :)

We went to cold’s storage and I applied for a job there. We went back to K box at 2 pm. At 3 plus, the manager called me for interview. I went back there at 6 plus. The office was quite small. I sat there alone with the manager while he interviewed. It was quite scary. He asked me, why are you interested in joining cold’s storage? I crapped to him about customer service and he asked me, how am I going to convince the customers to go to cold’s storage? I told me about the CCA fairs I participated. It was quite fun but I was a bit nervous. He said he was quite satisfied with my responses :) I hope cold storage will accept me!!!!

I chatted with ying xian, zong jie, Sean, zin mar, daus, and yong xun. Just had eefu noodles for dinner. I enjoyed myself a lot today… haha…

…job search and turf city shock…

:) Ha-ha. I have been looking at these newspapers. Why? I have been finding for a job! I feel quite sick of finding jobs; it is so tiring! Let me recount what happened on 30 Nov 04.

I was finding for a job, but none seemed to be one that suits me. I am so angry with myself. Why I am not experienced? Why girls seem to be the wanted ones for a job? I looked very carefully. Most people are looking for girls as their staff. They quote things like female working environment, housewives wanted and some when called, they say, “we want girls only.” Why this unfairness? I do not see the equality of sexes. Most of us say that boys are of advantage. I agree to of this of a certain extent. They are only of advantage when in the context of sex. For the rest, people started to show sympathy for them and begin to favour them! This is so unfair!

I found a job asking for work for a three-month contract as a clerk. I called up and the person told me that his place is at Geylang Lorong 9. He sounded a very nice person. I went there, thinking it was block 9. I got lost and hence I called him again. I realized that it was lorong 9! I walked there from Kallang station and it was a 5-minute walk. I was all sweaty when I reached there. The man was VERY nice! He gave me $10 as a token of appreciation. I feel very happy as I have gotten back a little of my money since the chalet expenses. =)

I met my mum at Clementi MRT and we went to turf city by the shuttle bus. Wow. This bus is a 30-minute interval! We reached the terminal at 2.05pm, which seemed late by 5 minutes. We had to wait 25 minutes before the next bus came. Well, I went to turf city as my mum told me she got some coupon that allows one to two set meals for a price of one! Since the food served is of high quality, it is a rare promotion. Foods like abalone, shark’s fin, and scallop were in the menu.

After eating the food, we went downstairs to look around and shop. I bought a new pair of sandals. The old one looks bad as the soles are coming out and I still could remember I had to rush to the shop outside cheers to buy a super glue to rescue my sandals during chalet! Mum and I went to Giant and shopped. Giant at turf city is so much quieter than giant at IMM. The one at IMM is busy most of the time but this one reminds me of shopping at Tanglin Market place or Liberty. It is so much quieter!

When we go and pay, I realized two familiar faces. Hey, these people are from my school—Hua Yi Secondary! They are working as temporary cashiers at Giant turf city. I was so surprised. I went to the customer service and registered to work there too. Hehe. After checks from year book, I realized the two people are Randy and Hanif from 406! I am sure the NPCC people (from my class)would know them

When I went out of the place, I saw another person looking very familiar. He is working somewhere there too. He is Jie Sheng from 407. He was wearing a uniform but I could not catch the name. I still could remember we shared the same tent during ‘secondary three’ adventure camp.

Haha. We went home laden with lots of things. It was heavy. =)

Ok. This morning, I spent it looking at the MTV that were given for the music CDs that I bought. The ones that made a deep impact in my mind is “sometimes” by Britney spears and “In the shadows” by the Rasmus.

“Sometimes” by Britney spears was quite a sad one, although Britney smiled in the end. It features her being chased by the reporters and her protective boyfriend. Both were angry at each other and even the boyfriend threw a vase of flowers. Britney was so upset that in the video she went to have a bath in a bathtub and tried to drown herself. It then features Britney as a wandering spirit in the hospital wandering around looking at other people’s cases in the hospital. The sight of her drown makes me feel disturbed. I sort of felt sad for her and understand how the media and press keep trailing on the super stars and actors/ actresses. It shows how the boyfriend realized that she drowned herself and sent her in the hospital. My goodness, it was such a sad scene. She kept singing the song until it ends with she woke up from it as she only submerged in the water for just a while. She gave a smile and the video ended.

“In the shadows” by Rasmus is very special as it shows a long time ago girl working in a family while the main lead was singing in the present. The maid could see things in the future and she was very frightened as she thought it was ghosts. She dropped a whole plate of things and punished by being whacked by the supervisor. Suddenly, she realized that the main lead was convincing her to go to the present by putting out his hand. She touched his hand she was teleported to the present. It was so interesting. I enjoyed it a lot. The main lead is a guy but he dressed himself up as a girl. He looked a little scary although. Haha.

I went to lot of places today. They are namely Giant IMM, NTUC Fairprice, MAD shoe shop, maid agency, and Sheng Xiong Supermarket.

The maid agency at bukit timah plaza was a disappointment. I called first and the person told me that I am just a bit too young but I can still try. When I reached there, the manager told me they were looking for girls and not boys! I wasted my trip there and this place is so inaccessible. I had to walk for about 10 minutes before I reached a bus stop that could take me home or to Taman Jurong. That FUCKING girl! She really made me pissed off with her… wasted my time.

Anyway, Taufik WON the Singapore Idols! I am so happy for him. He graduated from Singapore polytechnic, the poly that I am also aiming for. Let us cheer!!! Yay!!

I am going K Box tomorrow to celebrate Sharon’s birthday at also the end of ‘O’ levels. Hope it will be fun… :)
