birthday and more...

its has been a few yrs since i last blogged properly and so many things happened.

1. taiwanese rotaractors' visit to singapore
2. back to work...
3. my birthday.

Part 1.

5 Ming Chuan Taiwanese girls came over to Singapore for an exchange trip in February.

Their names are Emma, Carol, Sarah, xiao er and Jamsine

It was quite an xperience as I had not been a host before. For this time, our seniors - Bernard was the main host who took them around Singapore and was the tour guide. They stayed here for about 7 days :)

The first day was they went to Ngee Ann Poly to have a look at our open house. I was on duty when the open house at the BA dept. I did not know it was them and I asked bernard in English where are they from. The girls looked at me as if i was talking a foriegn language :P I realised Taiwan's English is not that great ah.

The second day, i went to sentosa with them and took cable car. Wah... so long never take cable car already... what an experience! I went to sky tower with them, to the underwater world and cinemania. These girls are very friendly and its such a experience. It is my first time watcing a dophin show :) NICE! The dophins look so pink and cute. At the end of the show, the girls took pictures with the dophins. $13!!! So ex! HAHA. This is how sentosa gets it revenue to pay us. LOL. Later, we went to musical fountain to watch the show. I felt so weird as I was the audience rather than the worker. I was like telling the girls that I worked there and many colleagues called me when they saw me. :) But a lot of newbies! Some I never see them before... Sadly, it rained when we were waiting for the show to start. What a disappointment for the girls! When we decided to call off the show and go back main land, the rain stopped. I think heaven played a trick on us. LOL:) So we went back main land. as that day was REN RI, which means it is everybody's birthday, we went to China Square's Sushi Tei to Lou Hei and had dinner there. The food wasn't cheap :S. In a day, I spent $70. for sentosa and food. Wow.

The other days they went Little India, Chinatown, etc but I was not around. HAHA. Not free la. So i was there on the last day.

It was rather a pathetic day and I spent a lot of money. Haix :( firstly, I was working that day at media9corp, so i heard they got this chalet thingy. I took cab to raffles place from mediacorp there (mac richie reservoir) Cab price was ex. :( I think it was nearly $10? Then i took a weird loooking bus to changi airport. The bus was travelling at those ulu roads and i felt so uncomfortable. Finally, from airport, i took cab down to downtown east. By the time i reach there, it was like 1plus already =.=|||| the ride from airport was extremely expensive and i spent a bomb on it.

Lucky they did not paichi and we played games. At the truth/dare part, i did not participate as I began meddling with my lappy. gahahahaha.

We never slept much. so as the girls too. So we went to the beach to watch the sunrise. Emma was like suddenly started to cry when we went back to the room. so touched! She was like saying she would miss us. All of us were shocked and emma could like control as she had keep sniffing to hold back her tears.

We went for breakfast @ macdonald's, then played a bit of daikee, after that left for Changi Airport. left and every1 felt so emotional... i think they are such great people.

i, alvin, xy, kit and soon chye took ken's car to ang mo kio and alvin and i took 74 back to NP. Felt so tired. LOL kept sleeping... hheee

Part 2
I went back to work recently and there are so many newbies! work location has moved to asian village and i like asian village. It has aircon and it is more cosy :) but work style has changed. I don't really like the current way things work. My enthusiasm has gone down a lot and i heard a lot are quiting. liwen quit. elvina quit. jamie quit. So many old staff quit. Our morale is very low. The new staff are still v excited abt this job but now we find it so mundane now.

Yesterday (sat) there was a major communication breakdown. According to walkie, it seems to tell us that the fountain - lower east/west gates not yet closed. kak asked me to inform guest via loud haler. People came in running and i thought they could get in. Sadly, the lower gates closed earlier than expected and those who rushed in could not get in :(. It created a big Hoos and Haas and a lady kept demanding to see or the PR's director's number. I was as friendly as possible but she did not cool down. Hence alvin came into action and settled the case.

This case was compained and it was quite a serious 1 :)
